Welcome, Preston!!!

Precious Baby Boy!
Sooo sleepy.
A little wink.

Wonderful news!!! Preston Jeffrey Cantrell was born on Tuesday, October 12, 2010 at 6:50A.M. Quite a little man weighing in at 8lbs 15oz. and 21 inches long. He is SO beautiful! His daddy told me it was fine to use the term beautiful for a newborn boy, and I can't think of another word to describe him. Handsome just doesn't fit the bill here.
Wade, Hayden, and I were able to spend a few hours with them yesterday evening. What a special time. I held him for a long time until I was forced to share with Hayden, but she did give him back to me when he started to cry. Nothing a diaper change wouldn't cure. And then I held him a good bit longer until he was hungry...nothing I can do for him there, so I had to turn him over to his mommy. Of course, this gave me some time to spend with Kate. She loves being outside, so we went out and played as much as we could, considering it was already dark. We played chase, rode on her 4-wheeler, examined moths, and played with the Halloween decorations. I love hearing her laugh. She is such a sweetheart.

Amanda, Kate and her favorite snack...Puffs.
Me being selfish with Preston!

Both Kate and Preston are beautiful, and such little angels. Congratulations Luke and Amanda! Job Well Done! The two of you make beautiful babies. Love you all!!!

The Best Days of Our Lives!

On September 19th we visited the Cantrell's to shower them with gifts for Preston. And of course, we didn't forget Miss Kate. She was showered, as well. Luke and Amanda were so kind to allow the 10 of us to barge in and take over their house for a few hours. We had a great afternoon. It made my day when Kate reached to me from her Daddy, and again when she cried as we left. Not because she cried, but because she recognizes us now and seems to enjoy our time together. She is such a beautiful angel. I love her personality. Such a sassy little one. She oooed and aaahed over all the gifts, but cracked me up when Amanda opened a personalized wipe case I made for Preston. She opened her mouth and gasped as if she were so hurt because I made a gift for someone besides her. It might take a little while for her to adjust to a new baby in the family, but she will be such a wonderful big sis. I just can't wait to meet Preston! Hayden is afraid she won't be able to love Preston as much as Kate...but this is the same Hayden that was initially jealous of Kate. The same Hayden that worships the ground that little girl walks on.

Most of our other time is spent at volleyball games. We have had a pretty good season. Tomorrow is our area tournament, so it could be the last day of games, or we might win and go on to the next level. Who Knows?

Blurry Block!

Our Homecoming parade and game was on Friday. Hayden was voted as "Wittiest" by the Senior class, so she rode on the Superlatives float. Wittiest a/k/a "Most Sarcastic". I think the Class of 2011 pegged this one perfectly. She is just like her daddy. lol

Other happenings that make me realize this school year is passing so quickly...received proofs of senior portraits, turning in orders for graduation invitations this week, applied to Mississippi State, and Auburn University, scheduled a tour of MSU and planning one for Auburn, and planning a cruise for the senior trip. Pray for me that I will enjoy every day of this last year at home with Hayden, and spend the least amount of time possible, grieving for what I know will come.

And last, but not least...A big shout out for all our family birthdays!

Fall Is In The Air

My last post was just before summer began, and here I am...almost Fall! Such a poor blogger. Oh well, lets talk about what has kept us busy this summer. I spent the last few weeks of June painting farm animals and fruit and vegetables for VBS scenery.
Our youth group left July 10th for Hamlet, NC. I tagged along as a chaperone. We knocked doors, sang and put on puppet shows for local daycares, sang at a nursing home, and put on a 4 night VBS. We met so many wonderful people. It was a great mission trip, and I feel so blessed to have been a part of it. Singing and puppet shows.Visiting a training center for Special Forces. Cool!Hayden with a turtle.

Door Knocking

We left Thursday heading home and stopped in Stone Mtn., GA. We played a while and watched the laser show. I LOVE the laser show. It always brings a tear to my eye. So patriotic. Finally at home on Friday to start VBS preparation. Many, many hours put in here...but always worth the outcome.
Hayden had surgery on the 19th and was down for about a week. The Cantrells visited on the 24th. We had such a good visit. A picture speaks a thousand words. Love this!

VBS was the 25th through the 29th and then school started back on my birthday, August 9th. Happy Birthday to me! YUK! We are now involved in volleyball games, football games, and 5th Quarters. Next Friday will end our 1st six weeks. Hayden's Senior Year! Oh, how time flies! We are visiting the Cantrells next weekend to have a small "Welcome" party for Preston. I have several items made for Kate and Preston, but don't want to spoil the surprises, so I will post pics later.
I'll go ahead and wish you all a Happy Fall, Happy Halloween, and a Blessed Thanksgiving...just in case I don't show up for another 3 months!

Love to all!

Lovin' Summer

I know that technically it isn't summer yet, but if school is out...it's summer to me. I have been super busy so far, but enjoying every minute of it. So far, I have sewn....ALOT, spent Memorial Day with family, visited the Cantrells and Memphis Zoo, took a quilting class, deep cleaned my house, and took one completely lazy, do-nothing day.

Hayden and I went to visit with Luke, Amanda, and Kate. We visited a while and went to the zoo. Hayden claims this was her first trip to the zoo. I think she went as a small child and doesn't remember it. Kate is too funny. She makes the most precious faces and when she walks, she completely stops when she comes to a different surface. You can tell she isn't sure about it and needs someones approval. She is a little angel.
She has Hayden wrapped around her little finger...who am I kidding...she has all of us wrapped around her little finger. Can't wait to meet her little brother and let him do the same.Enjoying the fountain!Watching the tigers.
Kate's New ClothesGetting ready for the beach trip!

I love their sibling shirts!
I think this shirt was Kate's favorite!

Happy Summer!!!

Hi Ho, Hi Ho, It's off to Sew I Go!!!

How time flies when you are...busy. I can't believe we are 19 school days away from completing another school year. So many of those days will be filled with field days, finals, and fun times that they will pass even faster. I AM ready for summer break. I AM NOT ready for Hayden to be a senior. Seems like yesterday I was carrying her to preschool with her Mickey/Minnie backpack. Turn around and she is grown. Because I don't want to start crying already, again, I will change the subject.

Little did I know that posting a few pictures of embroidery projects and patterns on Facebook would give such a boost to my sewing business/hobby. Word of mouth doesn't hurt either.

I certainly enjoy the extra money, but I feel I have neglected sewing for Kate, which is what I enjoy most. Wade and Hayden say I should learn to say "No". That doesn't come easy for me, especially when friends are involved. Maybe when school is out I can sew/smock/embroidery/applique for Kate, and her new little sibling. As soon as we find out baby Cantrell's sex, I am ready to start outfits for him/her. Oh how my brain is turning with ideas. I'll certainly have to make some matching outfits. Yay!!! Can't wait!!!

Wade's niece, Whitney is also expecting her first baby in December. I want to make some special little outfits for baby Skellie, as well.

Babies Galore...What Fun!!!
