Visit From an Angel!

It is only Sunday night, and I can already say this has been the best Memorial Day weekend...ever! The weather has been damp, but Little Miss Sunshine came for a visit and brightened all of our weekends. Yes, I am talking about Kate. Luke surprised me with a call on Thursday night saying that they could visit this weekend if we were free. Well, with this being Kate's first visit, and the first chance for the rest of the family to see her, I couldn't wait to spread the news. Obviously, I wasn't the only person excited with this news. I think Mom called everyone she knows, telling them that she had a tiny visitor coming to her house for the first time.
Mom and Dad with their 1st Great Granddaughter. Can't you see the excitement here?

Hayden found these Van shoes to match hers when we went to CYC and just had to buy them for Kate. Just a little difference in the sizes.

This is the same Hayden that was jealous of Kate when we first received the news that Luke and Amanda were expecting. After they left last night, she pouted up and said "I Love Her and Miss Her Already" Didn't take long to wrap you around her little pinkie.

Ashley had baby fever already...Watch out, Shaun!
Meloney getting her time with Kate!
Even Kevin had a chance to hold her. I'm sure most of you have noticed by this point that a couple of pictures are missing. Where is the one with me spoiling Kate? How about Vickie? I can assure you, we did have our chance. I just missed the photo op. I'm just hoping Ashley or Meloney have pics that they will share with me.
Luke, Amanda, and the little Angel! Thank you so much for bringing Kate to visit. You will never know how much this meant to the whole family. We love all three of you, so much! Thanks again!

I also want to add that Friday night was my niece, Chelle's graduation. She will be attending MSU in the fall and will be Tyler's roomie. I didn't have a graduation picture to post, but once again...I'll rely on Ashley to send me a few. Congratulations Chelle!!!

I Present To You...

Mr. and Mrs. Wade Behel. It is so hard for me to believe that this took place 26 years ago. Sometimes it seems like we have been together forever...but 26 years...no way. There have been so many happy times, so many memories and two wonderful children to show for it all. Yes, my bridesmaids dresses and flowers were lavendar. It was the '80's. No other excuse is necessary. And no, Hayden...I didn't have the ugliest dress ever.
I know some of you might not recognize Wade with brown hair, or Shaun at the age of 2 1/2. He was the perfect ring bearer, and looked so cute in the tux.

Of course, after all these years I can look back and wish to do so many things differently, but in the end all that matters is...
Wade
I'd choose you again!
Happy Anniversary!!!

Happy Mother's Day

I want to give a shout out to some of the wonderful moms in my life. To recognize a few:

My mother is such an example for others. She is always doing good for everyone else. Whether it is a fried apple pie delivered to someone that is shut in, or driving an older person to the doctor, she stays busy helping others. I pray that I learn from her good deeds and can become more like her.

I am lucky...my sister, Vickie, is my best friend. Of course, at times when we were younger, I swore to hate her. But she is a great mother to her boys, aunt that spoils all the neices and nephews, and the best sister I could ask for.
My sister-in-law, Meloney, who is a wonderful mother and such a tender hearted person. She will break into tears at the slightest thing...a sure sign of a good heart.
Wade's Mom, Jean...a preacher's wife for more years than I can count...I don't have to tell any of you that it takes a special person to hold down that position.
Tammy, Wade's sister-in-law. We aren't together very often, but we have such fun when we get a chance. Also a wonderful, christian mother. I know we would be great friends if we lived closer.

Two others that I don't have pictures to post. Tina, Wade's other sister-in-law. She is still fairly new to the family and lives away, but I know she is a good mom, and grandmother.
My friend, Jennifer. A great christian mom and wife. She deals with a full time job, four children(3 teenagers and a 10 month old), and a husband, with the greatest of ease it seems. Always there when I need advice, or just someone to vent to.
Last, but definitely not least. Amanda...new to the job of mother, but she is going to be a super mom. She is such a sweet, caring person. I know she is something special from watching Luke's eyes light up when he is around her.

Happy Mother's Day to all of you!!! I hope it is a great day spent with those you love the most. Hugs to all of you!

My Addiction

My wonderful husband bought me one of my favorite presents ever, this Christmas. My old sewing machine had died, and I suddenly had a precious new reason to start sewing again.
Well, it had been at least ten years since I had sewn very much, so when I went shopping for a new machine, I was amazed at how technology had made leaps and bounds since my last purchase. I immediately fell in love with the embroidery/sewing machines. The items I could imagine sewing for Baby Kate were endless. I shopped around and found a machine that would do everything I needed at a decent price...and the rest is history. I spend at least 6+ hours a week playing with my new toy. I sew mainly for Kate, but I have also made several shower gifts and embroidered for some of the teachers at school. If only sewing came with benefits (health insurance). One advantage....Kate will never have a problem remembering her name. Some of my projects are pictured, but many more are in progress!

Weekend at Home

After several weekends of being busy and out of town, it was so nice to spend a peaceful, couple of non-work days at home. Even though it was stormy, and I have been without my home DSL for 3 days now, it was restful. Wade and I bought shrubs and plants on Friday night, then planted them, fertilized all of our beds, and pulled weeds most of the day Saturday. And then the tornado sirens started to blast early that afternoon. It has been storming off and on since. Probably the reason behind my DSL problems. But now the BIG News!!! Tomorrow is the day!!! Yes, I am driving Hayden and friends to the "Death Cab For Cutie" concert, but that is NOT my exciting news. After two years and seven months, the braces come off! Yea, I can hardly wait! I am excited to have a new, straight smile, but I am soo ready to eat Starburst, Laffy Taffy, and Sugar Babies. Sounds like a sugar high to me!

And the last of my good news, only 13 days of school left. And with several of those being, awards days, field days, talent shows, etc...I'll be enjoying summer break before you know it!
